About HC Refrigerants

2021-08-12

Hydrocarbon refrigerants are natural, non-toxic refrigerants that have no ozone-depleting properties and absolutely reduce the likelihood of global warming. The world's most efficient and environmentally friendly refrigerants are five natural refrigerants, namely air, water, carbon dioxide, ammonia and hydrocarbons. We call them the Famous Five.

Because of their ozone-depleting properties or global warming potential, all existing Fluorocarbon refrigerants will be phased out in some form or form over the next few years. However, there is an answer created by nature rather than chemical companies - hydrocarbon refrigerants.

Hydrocarbon refrigerants are not just good for the environment; They can also save you up to 54% on energy costs. Air conditioning systems are the largest consumers of electricity in any building. Refrigeration typically accounts for 60 percent of a building's total energy use. By switching to hydrocarbon refrigerants, significant energy savings can be achieved.

The thermal conductivity of hydrocarbon refrigerant is 50% higher than that of fluorocarbon refrigerant, and the operating pressure is 20% lower than that of fluorocarbon refrigerant. These lower working exhaust pressures reduce the work the compressor must do, thereby reducing wear and tear. Lower pressure on pipes, joints, hoses, fittings, etc., thus reducing the possibility of leakage. This can and will extend the service life of your equipment.

All of these benefits amount to energy savings of 17 to 54 percent.
